I bought these shoes for winter running in VT and they have been awesome. The traction is good in the snowy/slushy conditions of the season and my feet are always dry at the end of my runs. The only thing I wish is that they were a little bit higher on the ankle. Overall I would recommend these shoes for anyone who likes a low cushion gore tex running shoe for nasty weather.

I wanted to take a few minutes to write a review on the INOV8 Terrafly GTX Trail shoes. As some suggest in the beginning of their reviews, I rarely write reviews on products unless I find them to be top-notch in quality.As background, on March 1-3, I ran a 100 mile snowshoe race up in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The trail was rigorous, with 1,200ft elevation gain per 6.55 mile lap, so 16 laps in total to hit 100. I was very concerned with my feet getting cold/wet in this race, given not only the snowshoeing factor, but overnight run factor as well. I wore these shoes coupled with Darn Tough Expedition Wool socks, which turned into an amazing experience. A few quick points I want to make:- My feet remained dry and actually quite warm throughout the entire race - shoes were amazing to that regard. The Gore-Tex layer worked perfectly and was VERY breathable. While I did change my socks every couple laps worth, I did so simply because of sweat buildup. The shoes themselves breath quite nicely.- Shocked by the weight. At first glance, I thought these shoes would feel like bricks on my feet, but this was NOT the case. I'm use to running in NB110s and INOV8 minimal trail running shoes, therefore a heavy shoe would definitely not go unnoticed. These were perfect when considering weight, protection, etc.- I hadn't a single blister in this race, and only put 3-4 miles on them before the race. Fit was very comfortable, no hot spots, true to size (11.5 is 11.5). They are slightly narrower than my usual shoe, but I would still classify this shoe as somewhat wider, so wasn't a problem.Highly recommend this shoe for people running wet / snowy trails. You won't have to worry about water proof / un-breathable socks. These shoes will keep your feet dry.

Great shoes for anything off-road, especially through mud. Very stable. Great fit. And easy to clean because of the Gore-Tex.
