Head for the hills in the Sawtooth trail shoe from Oboz. This multi-sport shoe is lightweight and breathable, with a leather, fabric, and mesh upper. The 3D molded external heel counter works in conjunction with the nylon shank and the dual-density EVA midsole to provide long-term support and motion control. The RadialTM Fit System, which integrates the upper and bottom, ensures stability on uneven terrain. I bought these based on the recommendation I read in Backpacker magazine (Aug. 09). They noted that these were great, light hiking shoes, ideal for rugged terrain. They've got very knobby soles that really dig in on muddy or rubble cover trails.I put these shoes on, and thought they were immediately comfortable. I hiked in them the next day, 8 miles, over varied terrain, and had hardly any breaking-in issues. They feel very supportive, and solid, despite their lightweight and good breathability.My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that the laces that came with the shoes are entirely too long, so the bow-knot I have to tie is almost comically large.I'm really very glad I bought these shoes, and will probably be buying another pair, so I can be sure to have them when I wear my first pair out.

After reading several reviews (all were mostly positive) from other websites, I decided to give these shoes a try. I was really impressed with how comfortable they felt the first time I put them on. They also don't make me look as if I'm trying to make a fashion statement on the trail.The shoe has a very aggressive tread pattern which is one of the best I've seen on the market. It can handle any type of rocky terrain, yet has enough traction to keep you upright in the mud. Too bad these guys don't make tires. Overall, they feel very solid but have good flexibility.If it weren't for my wife, I'd own a dozen pair of these before Oboz get's a crazy idea discontinue or redesign this shoe. But for now, I'll be happy with the pair I own.

I have been wearing these shoes for over a month now and they are great. I wear them all day in all types of conditions. Their best trait would have to be overall versatility. The conditions of my work day change often and can be anything from a long drive to walk in dirt fields to standing in a concrete warehouse all day. These shoes handle it all including hiding dirt and at the end of the day are easy to clean up. Over the past few years Oboz have become my go to shoe. I don't think there is anyone making a better all around shoe.
