Great for the steepest, trails...rigid enough to protect the feet from rocks but light and natural feeling. Wish they were a bit wider, but going a half size up did the trick. The soles are soft enough to have some grip on rock yet have lasted beyond my expectation and way out lasted and out performed saloman speedcross and others I have used over the years
