This shoe is awesome- the negative review must not have the right foot type for it. I'm a size 12 woman (size 11 mens in this) so I need a mens show with a slightly narrower fit. I also have a lot of trouble with ankle stability and pronation. These shoes have a nice solid sole and you can lace them up snuggly without maxing out on the lacing system. There's room to go even tighter. They give more support than my Vasolo hiking shoes even though they're classed as running shoes. I would give 5 starts except that it's a little more work to get them laced up than other hikers I have owned. I've had 2 pairs and am looking for a third, but they're hard to find now.

1-I found them uncomfortable out of the box.2-the insert at the bottom didn't feel good.3-Even after walking awhile I found these shoes very uncomfortable.4-I would not recommend his shoe and would suggest bare foot style shoes or echo over these!
