I like the look and fit of this shoe. My only issue, is that I have found the soles to be extremely slippery in wet conditions. Since I live in Seattle, this can be a challenge.

The orange is a terrific color. Comfortable shoe, but a bit odd in how it fits. Your foot tends to slide toward the nose unless you make a point to really pull tight the laces around your foot--more so than you would with any other running shoe which you can tend to sort of slip on lace up any old way and be on your way. These, to repeat myself, need extra attention to tightening the laces around the bulk of your foot. I did buy the right size that always works for my feet, and was a bit worried that the Lone Rock ran big. But after some testing I learned without proper tightness on the laces your foot will slide forward just enough so that your toes will be hitting the nose--can be uncomfortable obviously when that happens. Lace em up tight and they feel fine. UPDATE: After one year of light to moderate the shoe is showing signs of poor construction: the black leather strip that runs at the bottom of the orange fabric and connects to the sole<--that strip's stitching is coming undone and now water gets into the shoe. That black leather helped prevent water from entering, and now that it has broken stepping into puddles gets your feet wet. Whereas when the stitching was in place, it gave you that extra depth of protection against small puddles.

Second pair of Columbia shoes I have owned - well made, comfortable and a decent value. Took them on a recent trip to Tahiti and they were light-weight but rugged enough for hiking.
