For the money spent, this is a great shoe. I owned a pair of Hi-Tec shoes about ten years ago and was unable to find them again until I started shopping on Amazon. I have never owned a pair of shoes so comfortable as the ones I had then. Because of that experience, I decided to take a chance on these. I'm giving them a 4 star because I haven't owned them for more than a week. I'm still breaking them in but they are very comfortable. I'm nowhere close to being an expert on running, but I would say that they're a bit on the heavy side compared to other running shoes (I'm guessing that this might be because it is a trail shoe). So far, they seem very comfortable and breathable for my feet. I'm not getting any rubbing or irritation on the back of my heel like most other shoes have done. I would definitely order another pair of Hi-Tecs.

I bougth these shoes as I had previously Hi-tech trekking shoes for several years and they kept very good condition. Unfortunately I am extremely dissapppointed by this model. Within 2 months of occasional use the shoelaces need to be exchanged and shoes lost their initial shape. No heavy use during this time. Very disappointed by the quality.

Received the shoe and it was true to fit and comfortable, however... After about 10 uses fishing around lakes and down at the river here in Pittsburgh, the soles are peeling off at the toe and at a spot on the side bottom of the sole. They are not leather and the brown "sythetic" leather parts leave scratches in the material when rubbed off rocks or whatever else. Would not purchase again or recommend.
