Greeat shoe! Have run with them for the last month and very impressed with the fit, stability, and traction on the trails. The laces stay tight too. If you are a beginning runner or run primarily on roads, I would not recommend this shoe for you. The shoe does not have the standard amount of cushion, increasing the amount of pounding your feet and legs would endure daily. I have been running in Sauconys for the last 30 years and they never let me down.

I have just been for a run in these today. Bought them as my Adidas were not supporting my heels well enough, leading to tendonitis in one leg. (I'm a fencer, so my body is a bit lopsided.) The support was good and my leg feels better than it has for quite a while after a run. However, the woods around here (I'm in the UK at present) are *very* muddy and the grip is just not as good as in the Adidas. I'll stick with them for orthopaedic reasons and I'm sure that they'll be fine in Summer or back in Australia, but bear that in mind if you have some serious mud to deal with on your runs.

I found this shoe very well made, and it has a very nice, light feel. Not that I care too much, but they are lookers also. I'm super impressed with the "welded" construction. This is my first foray into this type of shoe, and it's hard to not think this is a nice advance over the standard sewn uppers. Fantastic fit, no hot spots, no break in period, they just worked out of the box. My Xodus 2.0's are starting to rack up some pretty good miles over some fairly rugged terrain and they appear to be hanging in there just fine.I am not of aware of ANY shoe that does EVERYTHING well, and this is true of the Xodus, as well. Most manufacturers tend to build trail shoes low, meaning that there's not a lot between you and the dirt. Saucony takes this commitment fairly seriously and these babies are fast and light. The penalty, in this case, I feel, is protection. I live in Northern Arizona, where the trails are stony and hard. I have pretty tender feet and I'm a forefoot striker, and I have occasionally returned from runs a little bruised at the balls of my feet. I feel these shoes would be most comfortable on hard pack rather than stony trails. It's nothing I can't deal with, and I have a feeling that my technique could be refined a bit to accommodate this (e.g., relaxing my forefoot more on landing and push-off). This is not a knock of the shoe at all, merely an observation. You just need to remember these aren't the shoes than will bomb over everything without regard to technique or line, they are more of a scalpel than a sledge hammer.I love these shoes. If they had a rock plate, they would be a bit better for the stony stuff, but I do understand that this might detract from their other strengths.
