These are great. I am NOT a runner, but i decided to start. I had a pair of Garmont hiking boots that were the most comfy boots i ever had so I chose these trail runners based on that. These felt great right out of the box. They do run a 1/2 size small, but that happened to be perfect for me. The lacing system is easy and never comes loose. Good sturdy sole and well constructed. I have not run these actually on trail, but the treads are great on the street despite looking non-aggresive. The styling is sweet and overall these are great shoes. I have to keep myself from wearing them as my casual shoes! Highly recommended.

After reading other reviews on these claiming them to run small, I ordered a half size up from my regular 11. They are a great fit, but I have a feeling my regular size would have worked too since there's a little extra room with the 11 1/2. Anyway, their best feature: I love the laces on these! You don't tie them but instead use a sliding plastic clip to tighten & loosen them. The clip holds great and the entire lace system is really easy to adjust. These were really comfortable out of the box, and I went for a run without any break in at all - they felt fine from the get go. They look good with a classy, fairly understated style and seem like standard Garmont quality (which is a good thing). My only complaint here is the treads. They do have treads but they are very shallow (probably 1/8th-1/4 of an inch thick) and the bottoms of the soles are nearly flat as a result of the minimalistic treads. I would prefer a sole with a bit more of an aggressive tread pattern personally. The soles are, however, good and grippy. Overall a good shoe that wins out on the excellent lace system, good comfort, and good looks.

I used these shoes as my main running shoes for 2 months. They are completely uncomfortable and fell apart very quickly. I've used "no tie" sneakers before and they can stay tight, but these start to loosen up as soon as you begin to run. The sole does not provide any support or cushioning. The insole is the thinnest I've seen in a long time and I threw them away to use better insoles before even trying to wear them.
